“Because Your Life Stories Deserve
Steve Berent founded StarMemoirs® in 2001 after co-authoring celebrity interviewer Skip E. Lowe’s memoirs, The Boy With The Betty Grable Legs (Belle Publishing, 2001).
“I had been writing motion picture screenplays for many years. But it was during the writing, editing and fine-tuning of Skip E. Lowe’s autobiography that I realized my true calling: Helping others discover the writer within them and enabling their memories and life histories to open up and spill out onto paper, ultimately facilitating a permanent, professionally produced document for all to experience.”
StarMemoirs Founder and President
Steve Berent majored in Advertising Copywriting and Journalism, and after graduation in 1979 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond with a BS in Mass Communications, he interned at Richmond Times Dispatch newspaper where he learned word processing of advertising documents.
Steve’s interest in advertising quickly shifted to Motion Picture Screenwriting and he relocated to Southern California where he wrote spec pilot episodes and spec scripts for various television comedies. He has penned numerous motion picture scripts and has worked on countless rewrites for screenplays, including “The Big Bopper.” And he has served as head writer for Mr. Lowe's hit celebrity interview program, "Skip E. Lowe Looks at Hollywood."
